Users and roles

Introduction
To access advanced functions of Ekip Connect you need to have an ABB account. Each registered user can perform the functions enabled for the associated role.
 
Request an ABB user
In the top bar, click on user icon and then Login.

Request a new role
Note: to find out the functions available for each role, please refer to document 9AKK108467A9236 available here.
 
It is possible to request association with a role for specific, even temporary, needs. Perform the following procedure:
  1. Click on user icon : the My account area appears.
  2. Click on New role, fill in the requested information and click on Submit Request: the request is submitted.
Note: association with the role requires evaluation times that vary depending on the role and the duration of validity requested.

Refresh role
  1. Click on user icon: the My account area appears.
  2. Click on Refresh role: role privileges are updated to the latest role configuration.

User The default role that enables basic functionalities Everyone
Digital User Enables system updates for a broader range of device families Everyone who needs to update firmware of the device
Internal User Grants access to advanced system update functionalities

ABB employee supporting the activation and promotion of products

Service MAN (MAN, L2, AVP)

Allows access to the service tool

Field operator who successfully attended MAN or ABB L2 or AVP training

Service L3

Allows access to the service tool advanced functionalities

ABB Service technician who obtained the L3 level

Internal R&D

Offers access to all advanced features

ABB personnel belonging to the Research & Development department

Note: Roles are ranked by their importance, starting from the most basic functionalities to advanced capabilities, where each role builds upon the previous one.
