At each start-up, Ekip Connect connects to the network and searches for updates. If any are available, you can download them immediately or postpone the download. If you postpone the download, the next time Ekip Connect starts up, an available update notification will appear again.
If you download the update but do not install it immediately, the available update notification Ekip Connect will appear again at the next start-up and you can download it again.
Manual updating
In the top bar, click on and then on Download.
To download the most updated version of Ekip Connect, click on Download Ekip Connect: Ekip Connect connects to the network and searches for updates.
To download new versions of the Firmware files, click on DownloadFirmware collection: Ekip Connect connects to the network and searches for updates.
To download logs of the app, click on Download Logs: Ekip Connect downloads the logs of the last 24 hour in a .txt file locally.
Disable updates messages
To disable the pop-up at each startup of the application informing about the availability of new updates, untick the box at the bottom of the page Download.
IMPORTANT: disabling the update notification checkbox is not recommended, as doing so may cause the loss of valuable information critical to system security.
Manual software installation is only allowed if Ekip Connect is not in use and if the version is the same or more recent than the one installed.
Manual installation of an older version is not possible and is signalled by a warning window.
Manual updating is disabled during an automatic update.
Note: during manual updating of software and firmware, the same or newer versions than those installed may be found: downloading is allowed in both cases.
Update security verificationAll software and firmware updates to Ekip Connect are digitally signed and verified to ensure integrity and prevent tampering.

Automatic Update Security When automatic updates are enabled:
Updates are downloaded only from official ABB servers via HTTPS
Update logs record date, time, version, and result
Failed updates are logged and reported to user
Recommended Update Practices
Enable automatic updates for maximum security coverage
Do not disable automatic updates for security reasons
Apply manual updates immediately if automatic option postponed
Test major updates in lab environment before production deployment
